35 Fun Songs To Sweat To

Music can have a big impact on your workout.

Normally, I would simply turn on my “Pop Fitness” Pandora station and get to sweating. It worked out pretty well and the music was pretty upbeat.

Apparently, I gave a “thumbs up” to some of the wrong songs because it started playing more and more slow, mellow songs, which are a little challenging to get amped up with to push through those last few reps. The commercials aren’t any better either and I don’t want to go premium because, you know, we are trying to get out of debt and every little bit helps.

I decided it was time to make my own list of workout music. Music that makes me want to move. Music that helps me go from

“I’d rather take a nap.”

“Let’s DO THIS!”

Here is my sweating song list. I hope it helps you “Move This Body” so you can “Shake It Off” (the pounds that is)

Now… my jams may not pump you up, and if they don’t, I highly recommend creating your own list that makes you want to get your sweat on.

This has proved to be super motivational for me lately… I’ll even make my workouts longer just because these songs make me want to work it! Sometimes I’ll stop in between sets and dance a bit… not well… but it’s a fun way to catch my breath while still moving and… you know… make my boys laugh. And… because of the littles… (and my own personal preference) most of these songs are free of swearing and crude language.

I am always looking for more songs to add to the mix so tell me your favorite sweating songs in the comments!

  1. Darren

Working out is that much more fun and interesting with just the right music playing. Music is motivating and works well with exercise. There is always a great selection of music playing at my gym every time I go there.

I realise your post is more aimed at women, but I like a lot of the songs on your list.

  2. Lucy Lowe

Yasss, just thinking about On Top of the World makes me want to break out and dance! Awesome list! It’s amazing how much difference music makes with working out.

    • Right?! I knew I liked upbeat music to workout to, but when I put my own list together it made it so much more fun! It was pretty much the only reason I worked out today.
